Categories : Discover Paris, published on : 11/25/22

The end-of-year holiday season is always an opportunity to get together with family or surrounded by all the people you love, to experience a magical moment. This year, why not spend your Christmas holidays in Paris, and discover the Christmas village of the Eiffel Tower ?

Enjoying the Eiffel Tower during the Christmas holidays

If you are Paris for the Christmas holidays, it is almost unavoidable to come and visit the Iron Lady. This mythical tower of more than 300 meters high then presents itself in its finest finery, and will put stars in your eyes throughout your stay.

On the 1st floor, you will discover the magical winter terrace, where the sparkling decoration will immediately immerse you in the magic of Christmas. On the program: visit from Father Christmas, mulled wine and delicacies. Not to mention the impressive glass floor, and the shop offering many gift ideas.

Also take advantage of this magical period and the night opening to climb to the top and offer you a breathtaking view of Paris. And why not take the opportunity to treat yourself to a little glass of champagne at the champagne bar at the top?

Share a walk in the Eiffel Tower Christmas Village

Extend your experience alongside the Iron Lady by going for Christmas Village, located on the Champ-de-Mars from December 16, 2022 to January 2 2023. Dozens of small wooden chalets will be open every day to present traditional artisanal products and regional delicacies, all in a magical decoration in one of the most beautiful Christmas markets in Paris.

To fully experience the Christmas atmosphere, the large Christmas tree will sparkle with a thousand lights, and at its feet, the 300 m² ice rink invites you to the pleasures of skiing, to skate to music. After that, what could be better than warming up with a good mulled wine or hot chocolate? For sure, the Christmas atmosphere will be at its peak and will delight young and old alike.

And if you visit the crèches of the 15th arrondissement of Paris?

Christmas is also the occasion to place a nativity scene under the tree recalling the miracle of the Nativity. Many churches in Paris then offered believers and non-believers the opportunity to discover magnificent stagings, whether Protestant, Catholic or Orthodox.

If the sublime Christmas crib of Notre Dame de Paris will unfortunately not take place this year (still a little patience, the reopening of the cathedral is not planned before the end of 2024), we advise you to discover the most beautiful cribs of Paris 15, of which here are 2 recommendations:

  • The nativity scene of the Saint-Léon church : created in homage to the Christians of the East, this nativity scene offers a magnificent staging of numerous santons;
  • The nativity scene of Notre-Dame de Nazareth : the parish has two nativity scenes, accessible from November 2022 and throughout the month of December 2022. The first is presented in the church, while the other, much larger, is installed outside, under a tent.
