Walk in Paris: The most beautiful streets of the 15tharrondissement !

Rue d'Alleray and its hidden streets, lined with buildings with eclectic architecture. You can discover a former car garage, a few buildings from different periods and two private roads, the Hameau d'Alleray and the villa Hersent.

Rue Santos-Dumont and its villa, a dead-end alley with timeless charm, paved and flooded with greenery, the Villa Santos-Dumont was built in the 1920s and has seen many celebrities pass by, such as the sculptor Zadkine, Fernand Léger, Georges Brassens and many others.

Rue Castagnary and Villa des Charmilles, part of a complex located between Rue des Morillons, Rue Castagnary and Rue Brancion and which, in the 19th century, wasone of the villages of the future created by promoter Alexandre Chauvelot.

La Villa des Charmilles, a cobbled street, is representative of the promoter's desire to build small buildings with gardens for the working classes. Continuing along the rue Castagnary, we arrive at the lighthouse, a replica of that of the port of Le Croisic and which indicates the presence of a large hall for the sale of fish which no longer exists today.

Unusual places in the 15th century where to stroll.

Dantzig Passage

The Dantzig Passage and the Hive, artistic residence founded by the sculptor Alfred Boucher, famous in the 19th century for his busts. The main building is the former wine rotunda of the Universal Exhibition of 1900 designed by Gustave Eiffel. The sculptor bought the building and set it up on this land in order to set up low-rent workshops for young artists: Zadkine, Léger, Soutine, Chagall and Modigliani frequented the place. He called them bees, the origin of the nickname “la Ruche”.

The Petite Ceinture (Small Belt) in the 15tharrondissement takes up part of the route of the oldPetite Ceinture line. It is alinear park1.3 km long over 3.5 ha parallel to theboulevards of the Maréchaux and which connects theplace Balardin the west to therue Olivier-de-Serresin the east. Laid out between rue Olivier-de-Serres and ruede Dantzig, a footpath connects the promenade tothe Georges-Brassens park.

Bir Hakeim bridge

The Bir Hakeim bridge, a two-storey structure built at the beginning of the 20th century, is a bridge crossing the Seine between the 15th and 16th arrondissements which has a number of characteristics.

It has a central part of twelve meters cantilevered and has two floors: one for pedestrians and cars and a viaduct on the upper level where line 6 of the metro runs.

It is supported by metal colonnades, except at the end of Île aux Cygnes where it rests on a masonry arch. Under the railway viaduct runs a cycle path and stairs in the middle of the bridge allow you to go to the Île aux Cygnes, a beautiful walk that leads to the Pont de Grenelle and the replica of the Statue of Liberty.

From the bridge, you can enjoy a superb view of the Eiffel Tower. The walk continues along the Allée des Cygnes, a walk along the Seine and accessible from the middle of the Bir-Hakeim bridge.
Stroll through the green spaces of the 15tharrondissement .

Georges Brassens Park

Georges Brassens Park pays tribute to the poet and singer Georges Brassens (1921-1981). Indeed, he lived not far from there, at 42 Villa Santos-Dumont. The landscape of the hamlet of Vaugirard was, until the end of the 18thPérichot vineyard employed a large part of the local inhabitants. Then, in the 19thcentury , the vines gave way to market gardens, and, finally, to the slaughterhouses of Vaugirard in 1894.

A steeply sloping landscape, it reveals a river surmounted by a small bridge and a belvedere . You can find many varieties of plants there: heather land, waterways, as well as a rose garden. You also enjoy a garden of scents, ranging from honeysuckle to jasmine, and a garden of aromatic and medicinal plants. The park also houses stone and bronze works such as a bust of Georges Brassens, made by André Greck, one of Doctor Émile Decroix and a horse's head, on the entrance door at the corner of rue des Morillons and rue Brancion.

You will find activities around the variety of pinot noir vines, but also at the apiary, run by the Société Centrale d'Apiculture. Guided by an activity leader, children learn to understand the role of bees, swarming, pollination...

Children will find what they are looking for here, because there are many activities available: swings, pony rides, ping- pong, merry-go-round, Polichinelle theatre.

Parc André Citroën.

The park is part of an ultramodern architectural ensemble built in the 1990s. The history of this avant-garde district begins in 1777. Since the 15thboaters have loved to come canoe in the small port of peach called bleach, but it was transformed by the installation of a chemical products factory. The Count of Artois had the famous bleach made there, which took the name of the village. And it was in 1915 that the engineer André Citroën set up his factory in this now industrial area.

A ball games area for children is installed in the white garden as well as two ping-pong tables, a zip line and games on soft ground. In the Black Garden, they have five enclosures around two sandboxes topped with spring games, wooden huts and slides.

Finally, acaptive gas balloon hoists its passengers up to 150 meters in height to admire the site and see your hotel in Paris 15!
